This two-bedroom pied-a-terre is set in one of downtown San Francisco’s most coveted addresses, and provides an unparalleled experience of city living. For an intercontinental couple with a blended family, we designed sophisticated accommodations that combine the convenience of a pied-a-terre and the comforts of home. Our goal was to arrange the interior with multiple small spaces to stop and relax, and our clients trusted us to create an environment that distinctly fit their needs. A palette of soft greys and taupes is punctuated with stand-out carpets, hand-crafted furniture pieces, and artwork in saturated hues. The lounge space, which acted as both an office and a bar, is the nexus of the design. We worked with a local craftsperson to design integrated cabinetry and a custom media unit that unify the space. The result is a multi-purpose space equally well-suited for work and relaxation.
